For my Methods of Inquiry class, we were instructed to create a project that we could do every day of the semester for 5 minutes each time. The goal was to combine a project that displays the passage of time, while also connecting it to a character trait of oneself. I chose "appreciation of beauty", and invented a project in which I would photograph people every day and try to perceive the essence of their character. I imagined that as time went on, there would start to be duplicates of the people photographed, and I would be able to depict the way relationships grow and develop. I also felt it would be a way to connect myself with the people around me. The hearts are filled in with words when I feel I know someone well enough to sum them up completely. This project was incredibly rewarding, more so than I ever expected at the beginning. Not only was I able to achieve my goals of the project, but I was also able to allow a lot of people to see the way they are perceived, in very valuable and important ways.
